I’ve come up with a solution to the bathroom debate. We have one set of bathrooms for trans women and the vast majority of cis women who are totally fine using bathrooms with them, and another set exclusively for the small minority of cis women who have problems with trans women.

I know you’re right, Niv. I really hope these protests move the needle, but like you, I sort of think there are more powerful tools. Plus, I’m going to my 14 year old’s band review on Saturday. They are so excited, and absolutely nothing could be more important to me.

The govt shutdown is on track to be at least the 5th longest in US history. Wanna know the longest? 34 days during Trump’s 1st term. That shutdown was over $5.7B Trump wanted for the border wall. He got $1.7B. A reminder that President Deals has always been bad and cruel at making actual deals.

My best guess about the future of AI is there is some sort of bursting bubble - AI is clearly over-hyped. That doesn’t mean it goes away (sorry). AI doesn’t make money, but it can and does help businesses make money. Plus efficiencies, small language models, and other trends will make it more stable

Yeah this is really subtle and important. At least some of us feel something is wrong with us because maybe wearing women’s clothes feels like a fetish or gives a thrill. It’s so hard to push past that when there’s so much else set up against us to keep us in the closet.
