I do struggle with drawing crowds, but it just wasn't going to feel right unless all these kids were there. :)

I've been quiet about MIS for a long time, so here's just a quick update.

My Impossible Soulmate will return... soon.

I've been quiet for a long while again, and I've seen from comments and DMs that people are getting worried. So here's a quick update.

It's been a rough year for MIS and for me. The last canon page was just about six months ago, and even then, the last update was about four months ago. The good news is that the task I set out to do - work on the final volume of my previous comic, Rain - is in its last phases. The extra long bonus chapter is complete and drawn, which for me, was the biggest obstacle. I'm currently working on the book cover (ended up being basically the last thing because I was struggling to settle on a design I was happy with). And then I'll do edits, and I can finally submit everything.

I've also done a little bit of prep work for some future projects (I'll go into that at a later date), and worked on a few collab pieces with friends (also to be seen at a later date). So even if I've been quiet, I've been keeping myself busy. I did want to participate in one of the many October daily drawing challenges too, but the last thing I need is to put even more on my plate right now. ^^;

All that said, I've been thinking about MIS a lot over all this time. I miss it so much. I miss my kids. I miss sharing their story. I'm worried people will forget about them. But I think I'll be ready to get back to drawing pages again within the next week or so.

I don't have a return date set in stone at this very moment. I'd like to have a fairly substantial page buffer at the ready so I can keep things going for a while without any unplanned breaks slowing things down, though. So best case scenario, I'd love to see MIS return to regular posting perhaps next month. Worst case, we restart fresh in 2026. I'm gonna do my damnedest to get things moving along as soon as I can, but as you just read, I've had a lot on my plate (and that's just the art stuff). So if it takes until January, so be it.

But know that I'm aiming for November.

Oh, absolutely. I mean, if I absolutely have to be distracted by something, a game I really enjoy is like the best case scenario. Certainly better than dwelling on internet drama.

My dumb ADHD brain is annoying and terrible at letting things go, but I guess it has a point... this time. XD

"Been sick for the last day and a half. I swear I always get sick after finishing some long-running project (it seems to often happen between chapters).

Except I still have a lot to draw so I hope this passes soon. I've got two collabs I need to wrap up, I need to start buffing for the next MIS chapter, and I still want to participate in an October daily drawing challenge.

Meanwhile, my brain is being totally uncooperative. Half of it is just like, 'You don't need to draw anything; just play more Silksong.'

And the other half is irrationally mad about some dumbass post I read this morning being very wrong on the internet and getting tons of positive traction for it. But I don't have the spoons to make a response, and it's really not that important in the grand scheme, so I wish my brain would just let it go."

It blows my mind sometimes how much Rain reaches people. Of course I always hoped it would have a positive effect on its readers, but I never could have guessed that it would be to this extent. It means the world to me. 💜

Been almost two weeks since my last Volume 7 update.

Don't worry. I may have gone quiet, but I've been working all along. I've taken like one day off in the last month, and am just four pages away from finishing the art for the 40-page bonus chapter! I'm gonna sleep for a week when this is done. XD

(I was going to post another Rain, but I just realized I hadn't shared any Ky yet.)

For whatever reason, I'm enjoying it quite a bit this time around. I don't really know what changed.

Anyway, long story short, I'm kind of obsessed now, so I made a [vaguely rat-shaped] bugsona. XD

Hollow Knight fan character with a helmet reminiscent of Rat Lynn's head: ears, snoot and all. She also has purple hoodie and a paperclip sword.

Fun fact: I fell off the original Hollow Knight a long time ago. But all the Silksong talk has compelled me to give it another shot. I thought about just jumping in to that instead, but I'm cheap and I already have the original on-hand, so I decided I'll start there for now. XD

Fun fact! We've seen her before on Aiken's shirt once during Chapter 26. In the page blurb, I call her a Singatron (playing off Vocaloid). That said, I admit, I've never really followed Vocaloid, so I don't have a witty specific character name for her.

So I'm just going with Matsune Hiku. :P
