@housedemocrats.bsky.social are here in Washington ready to negotiate a budget deal to reopen the government.

House Republicans need to come back to work on behalf of the American people.
It’s day 14 of the Federal Government Shutdown and I am here in Washington D.C. continuing to fight for you.
We are into the second week of the Federal Government Shutdown.

I will continue fighting to stop the disastrous cuts to Medicaid that fund our Hospitals, Nursing Homes, and Community Health Centers.

I explained why I cannot support Republicans’ massive cuts to Medicaid, which will have a severely damaging effect on all our hospitals, Community Health Centers, and nursing homes, including South Shore Hospital, Brockton Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Mass General Brigham.
Great to see a packed house at Avon Town Meeting last night.

Sincere thanks to Town Meeting Moderator Mike Nelson for allowing me to update residents on the impact of the Federal Government shutdown.
While House Republican leadership has cancelled votes, I am here in Washington with my fellow @housedemocrats.bsky.social to do everything possible to prevent a government shutdown and fight against cuts to health care, Medicaid, and other critical programs.
Grateful to join Senator Mike Rush, Rep Paul McMurtry, Selectman Jim MacDonald (and my friend James) in celebrating this great tradition. A big thank you to Bob Stanley and Dedham Parks and Rec, and to all of the dedicated volunteers, vendors and community organizations who made this event possible!
It was a spectacular day for the annual Dedham Day Celebration! The community came together to enjoy local vendors, food, music, lots of fun activities for the kids and of course the traditional cow plop.
This event raises funds for charitable works and various non-profits in memory of young Colin McGrath who remains in our hearts.
Congratulations to all the runners from 3 years old to 73. Sincere thanks to Kerry, Brendan, Sloane and Miles (very fast) McGrath, Brendan’s Mum and Dad and extended family and all the volunteers and sponsors.
Shared a perfect morning with Councilor Ed Flynn and Rep. David Biele at the Colin’s Joy 5k at South Boston Catholic Academy.
As a proud member of a postal family, I am committed to protecting our hardworking postal employees and fighting the Trump Administration’s threats of privatization.
I was proud to join my colleagues, @budzinski.house.gov, Rep. Bergman, @repchrispappas.bsky.social, and @repwalkinshaw.bsky.social, to launch the Bipartisan Congressional Postal Service Caucus.
Sincere thanks to our friend and host Matt Hanley and the families of Abington and the South Shore for their hospitality.
Great to join a packed house tonight at JP Ryan’s Pub in Abington for Registrar John Buckley’s Galway Oyster Festival with entertainment by Bob Fowkes and Curragh’s Fancy as well as the amazing Haley School of Irish Dance.
Sincere thanks to MNA President Katie Murphy and Maryann Bray for your courtesy and hospitality.
Julie has been a fierce advocate for her fellow Nurses for 35 years - she started the MNA pension fund and raised wages and improved working conditions for the MNA’s 16,500 nurses who are the backbone of our health care system.
Great turnout tonight at Local 718 IAFF Florian Hall for the retirement party for Julie Pinkham, Executive Director for the Massachusetts Nurses Association.
As a member of @oversightdemocrats.house.gov, I have demanded that Chairman Comer hold a hearing to investigate Mr. Homan’s reported misconduct and determine why the Trump Justice Department shut down its related criminal investigation.
Under President Trump, the Department of Justice abruptly terminated its investigation of Homan for potential bribery and other federal crimes.
In 2024, current White House “Border Czar” Tom Homan reportedly accepted a $50,000 cash payment in exchange for his promise to secure contracts from the Federal Government.
Thank you to Amy Matturro, Tom “Shaper” Nee, Mary Ronca, Alice O'Connor, Bill Ferguson and all the residents for organizing this important conversation and for their kindness and hospitality.
