Years ago I painted a series about the juxtaposition of ancient and modern in Indigenous cultures and cluttered the portraits with the mundane — feathers and stones alongside coffee cups and church calendars. I enjoyed those packages too.
I am so glad that we don’t have too many of these days! Despite the fact I spent most of my working life in hot climates, I just want to live below 70 ( 21c) degrees, and I won’t be disappointed when snow falls amd the lake freezes.
Interestingly enough, I know the captain the photo. He was in my youth group after I retired from the Marine Corps, and I can say, he’s not fond of Hegseth or his political kin.
It was the summer of 1990, and I was at Ladd Stadium in Mobile, Ala., for Jimmy’s return to his home crowd and I only got entry to the sold out stadium because I was working the EMS service for the concert. If I didn’t love his music before, I did after that night.
