A really solid and fun couple of weeks of reading. Powering through my 'must reads' (eArcs) to be able to mood read more for the rest of the year.
Fell down the stairs earlier. Shook it off but slowly but surely various pains are now arriving 🤦‍♀️

Book Tour post with @bookouture.bsky.social and #HelenaDixon for the release of the fabulous Murder At Midwinter Farm.

I love the Miss Underhay series and even at book 22 in the series continues to have inventive mysteries that I love to read.

How have we gotten here? How does this 'protect' anyone? Why do they want to exclude people so much? Why are people reduced to how they look? What about people who aren't trans but dont fit those stereotypical gender moulds?

"The Indifferent Stars Above" by Daniel James Brown, amazing chronical of the Donner Party (and the hubris/resiliance of people at the time).
Ok BlueSky: what are your favorite history books in terms of sheer page-turning, narrative propulsion? Thinking along the line of Killers of the Flower Moon, etc. Nonfiction chronicles that read like novels or movies.

They'd hate the kids smiling and laughing while playing football and basketball we see in the grotty hotel they live in next to an airport.
There is so much messed up about this front page Express story today.

There's no suggestion or evidence ANY alcohol or drugs was consumed. This is literally just people dancing.

And buried in the piece: "The footage is believed to have been filmed just before Labour took power in July last year."

Seeing the world of Pagans on screen woukd be immense, for now, I'll take the book and it's follow up (can't wait!).
IN FACT, having talked to an *actual* Scandi television producer about a possible Pagans adaptation, you would not BELIEVE what the most expensive thing about a potential TV show would be. Although it would make total sense, thinking about it. I will return in ONE HOUR to tell you.

2h 10m of trick or treating. Loads of really polite and well behaved kids, none grabbing handfuls of sweets. Love trick or treating on my estate, it's a really family based evening.
