What this proposal would do is create real barriers for eligible voters — especially young people, married women who’ve changed their names, and low-income Americans.

This “proof of citizenship” proposal tries to solve a problem that doesn’t exist.

Noncitizen voting is already illegal — and exceedingly rare. Our current safeguards already prevent, detect, and prosecute it when it happens.
👉 Application Deadlines:

* Online or by mail: Must be received by your County Board of Elections no later than October 25 (10 days before Election Day).
* In person: You can apply for and receive your ballot at your County Board of Elections up until the day before the election.
Voting by Mail in New York State

New York voters can vote by mail in two ways:
* Early Mail Ballot
* Absentee Ballot
The League’s president addresses members and supporters about the upcoming No Kings protest this Saturday, underscoring the League’s commitment to defending democratic principles.
