i remember also reading a LOT about flowers and symbolism, did you know roses can also represent death?
the original project name for the song was "iris" like the flower, take what you will from that. i love seeing other interpretations of my works :)

about the sound, i had been listening to quite a lot of rock and i think it shows if you pay attention to some of the instruments
i wanted to experiment a bit with my style, something a bit less chiptuney and more... organic??? i dont know how to word it

apart from that, i had been reading a bit about queer history, the hays code, and religion (mostly catholic since thats what i grew up with)
my own personal experiences also influenced the lyrics, i also hadn't fully accepted the fact that i was lesbian at this point in time
