The world would be much better off if current political leaders behaved like the Pharisees (the actual Pharisees, not the fictional bogeymen of Christian scripture). Fidelity to law is a good thing. Being accountable for your actions is a good thing. Striving to do good works is a good thing.
If you are Jewish, then stop buying into right-wing rhetoric that diminishes the Jewishness of non-Orthodox Jews.
The thought of half of Staten Island packing up and moving to Chattanooga after tomorrow is endlessly amusing
I'm so sorry. This is a tremendously sad development.
I am guessing that you are not Jewish, so I'll just say this: this is not your lane. You don't know enough about our traditions or modes of observance to make this distinction.
My kid's bar mitzvah is the weekend after Thanksgiving - guess our family won't be able to come ☹️
You literally said "religious" when you meant Orthodox. Orthodox Jews are not more "religious" than I am. They just practice differently than I do.
It's terrible reporting. His comments were made on the local Hanover FB group, not hard to find at all.
And not boiled, I think?
It's like "nazism" is just a catch-all term for things Platner and his ilk don't like, and not a descriptor of a specific group with a specific set of bigotries (that not uncoincidentally Platner thinks are less concerning)
It's absolutely deranged, and also shows that Holocaust education clearly does not combat Christian antisemitism.
He knew what he was doing.
He's lying. The float designer said on FB that the float was inspired by his trip to the Holocaust Museum.
He's lying. Kelly said on FB that this float was inspired by his trip to the Holocaust Museum. It wasn't the kids, but the adults are lying.
He's lying. He said on FB that it was inspired by his trip to the Holocaust Museum. There are also graves on the float. His FB comments make it clear that his intent was to proselytize.
I'm not sure how to read your comment? I keep hearing alarmist shit from rabbis in the city which seems in direct conflict from what I hear from lots of Jewish voters. By "actually impacted" do you just mean Jewish NYC community generally or do you mean a particular part of that community?
The American Jews who support Bibi aren't more "religious" than the American Jews who don't support Bibi. They may practice Judaism differently. As a non-Zionist sort of Reconstructionist/sort of Conservative Jew, I am not any less "religious" (or less Jewish) than the Bibi-supporting folks.
Visiting my Midwestern, very Blue, very much not part of the Confederacy hometown & a bar has opened called "Hazzard County" with a Confederate-suggestive logo. That they have not been run out of town with pitchforks is a shande and a desecration of everything this town ever stood for
Seems like to you don't understand Judaism or Jewish scripture in the slightest
Absolutely do not try to revisit the Chef Boyardee ravioli either
Ah yes, back in the land of Kum & Go
I assume Buck is a tankie
My car once broke down in Springfield, conveniently in front of a tasty Brazilian bakery. It's an unexpected culinary delight if a city.
As it turns out, unsurprisingly, we are the ones who need yelling at.
