Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 80th day out of the last 92.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

Merkley: "What we've seen is that democracies no longer die bc men w/guns go in and take it over. Instead, it's electeds who erode the separation of power. If you have a rubber-stamp Congress & courts that deliver more power to the executive, suddenly you have an authoritarian state. It's here now."

Chris Murphy: "There's a lot of history that has taken place in the East Wing & it was just destroyed without any conversation in the public, without any consent of Congress. It's absolutely illegal. It’s hard to convey just how much Chicagoans are mobilizing against ICE. Don’t want to downplay the harm, or make it seem like a fair fight. But in neighborhoods across this city, ICE is getting chased by people blowing whistles and shouting. People are running TOWARD ICE to protect their neighbors.

“That they’re so uptight about”

I’m guessing that if Cramer hadn’t been seated in his own office as U.S. Senator over a month after he was supposed to for no particular reason he’d have been a bit “uptight” about it as well.
Sen. Kevin Cramer on Mike Johnson: "It may be getting to be time for him to bring the House back into session, if for no other reason to start doing other legislation and perhaps to swear in the House member from Arizona that they're so uptight about."
