Running ‘til you’re nothing sounds a lot like being free
Do you have this data historically? I'm wondering if there's any relationship between how extensive a coaching search is and the quality of the candidate hired. Even just knowing how much heterogeneity there is in coaching searches is interesting.

This is just an accounting take though right...change the field dimensions and the lines can mean whatever you want

Lamar was not counted on to start when Flacco was the QB
September 22, 2025 at 5:41 PM
Or, equivalently, why are the games Lamar sat behind Flacco included?
September 22, 2025 at 5:29 PM
Why are the games Mahomes sat behind Smith not counted here?
September 22, 2025 at 5:28 PM
Buffalo *allowed* 8.6 ypp last week!
September 14, 2025 at 10:42 PM
Can you blame them? Orioles signed Basallo
August 22, 2025 at 5:17 PM
Trade for John Means immediately
August 6, 2025 at 6:55 PM
This happened vs Cubs last year too!
August 2, 2025 at 7:25 PM
I wonder if they could get someone like Stowers for him
July 18, 2025 at 10:09 PM
Can you just do Stanley and Taylor for W1 last year...no particular reason.

I don't know if you're a fan of the writing of @semi-rad.com (I think you'd enjoy his work if you're not familiar!) but he recently had a wonderful piece about minced garlic.

Exciting! However…+10 run differential in 6 wins is not inspiring a ton of confidence for me personally (though I want to believe)
June 5, 2025 at 10:12 PM
I thought the 3-2 take was an optical illusion somehow -- unfathomable
May 17, 2025 at 2:39 AM
I definitely thought it was the hitting coaches, but I’m coming around to the idea that it is a Hyde issue

@baumann.bsky.social any recommendations (or starter packs…) for cycling accounts on Bluesky in honor of the Giro?
May 12, 2025 at 3:27 PM
Dumb non-journalist question: what is a disclosure in this context?
May 7, 2025 at 2:13 PM
Sorry, my question was unclear: I meant using NFL pressures as the outcome you’re predicting, training the model, and then translating that pressures prediction into a sack prediction.
April 30, 2025 at 3:15 PM
Empirical question for both of you: does the problem change much if you predict pressures and impose some average pressure-to-sack conversion rate compared to predicting sacks directly?
April 30, 2025 at 3:01 PM
This makes it look like the starter is just a placeholder for “25 year old AAA guy” which honestly wouldn’t be unreasonable at this point
April 26, 2025 at 2:43 PM
@minakimes.bsky.social @dannybkelly.bsky.social the Mike Green pick feels a lot like the Frank Clark pick in 2015; do you guys have thoughts on how you processed that organizational decision as Seahawks fans, and how you feel the discourse about these guys/situations has (or has not) changed?
April 26, 2025 at 3:38 AM
Is the tracker available online? Am I dumb? I just see the “oh no, submissions are closed” page haha
April 23, 2025 at 2:32 PM
The Reds also did not see an out pitch tonight, unfortunately for me and Cade.
April 19, 2025 at 2:01 AM
@enosarris.bsky.social good thing you didn’t spend time writing up Povich’s ERA “improvement” in your column!
April 19, 2025 at 12:42 AM
So unfortunate that he ran up payroll on other parts of the club leaving no budget for starting pitching… wait…
