If giant terrestrial archosaurs retained thick articular cartilage at large sizes, I wonder if this enhanced their locomotory performance compared to giant land mammals (that get thinner cartilage with ⬆️ size). An advantage of thick cartilage would be shock absorption.
open your little mouth and say AAAA

A #Tyrannosaurus rex uses its colorful mouth as a form of display, a bizarre rictus protrudes from its jaws displaying strong blue colors, while the inside of its green mouth breaks the contrast of the blue.

It's spring in the heart of Europe sometime in the Pleistocene, and a mother #Palaeoloxodon antiquus takes care of her baby after a winter, she began to exchange her winter coat for a thinner summer coat while her baby plays among the flowers always under her care.

#Baurusuchus salgadoensis

A survivor of a megaraptoran attack when she was young, which cost her her right arm and part of her tail and left her with deep scars on her skin.

Its fossil remains were previously attributed to Carcharodontosaurus saharicus, but a taxonomic review led to the establishment of a new genus. (2/2)

some plausible variations of the crest
#Tameryraptor markgrafi is a recently described carcharodontosaurid from the Bahariya Formation in Egypt. It features a peculiar structure on its nasal bone, which may have supported a crest during its lifetime. (1/2)

I actually made them thinking more about ostrich feathers, but now that you mention it, they really do look like waves.
first drawing of the year
a #jormungandr wahallaensis stylized to resemble medieval bestiary illustrations.

another #art that I had the idea to produce after reading and watching a bit of #Jurassicreimagined
goodbye 2024 and hello 2025
last art of the #NewYear .
an unexpected duo? a young #Ceratosaurus exchanges caresses with a large #Torvosaurus under a huge tree.
speculative behavior based on allopreening seen in extant #birds

as well as my previous #MorrisonFormation art, I drew heavily on the work of Brian Engh and his documentary #JurassicReimagined

some art focuses
a trio of #harpactognathus quickly devour an unfortunate #Ceratosaurus, while the owner of the carcass(( #allosaurus )) turns back his fangs when he sees his meal being stolen.

( #paleoart comission )

Deinosuchus' main prey would've been giant turtles, followed by fish, but it wouldn't have passed the chance on ambushing a clueless dinosaur (Like this Tyrannosauroid)
I had this idea without commitment after reading a post by my dear Brian Engh where he suggests the existence of volcanoes in North America during the end of the Jurassic.
which gave me the idea of illustrating a dinosaur passing close to a
Morrison's #volcanoes

A young #Allosaurus fragilis wanders in the middle of an active volcanic crater, he passes next to a river of lava that lights up the night, beneath them the #moon shines with all its beauty.

their bare skin has the function of display having lively and flashy cores, while their plumage protects them from the sun just like ostriches, emus, camels and a certain bipedal primate.

+ BONUS! with TURTLE REX!!!
a #tyrannosaur from the southernmost population of Laramidia. I imagined such a population as being relatively more slender than their northern cousins.
