It explains how what criminologists call “the dark specter of crime” (which refers to unreported crimes) will exponentially expand under this regime. The result will be an increasing lack of reliable crime statistics, rendering law enforcement a PURELY vibes-based tool of oppression

Agree with everything you said, just, there is no possible mechanism for instituting “martial law” in america. The insurrection act is the closest thing but the federal government has no ability to seize control of law enforcement away from the states. Only possible through violent military invasion

This is both relevant to news, but also a guilty pleasure, true-crime-ish, ‘bleed-to-lead’ story.
It’s about far-right candidates in German elections within the last two months, conspiracy theories about political violence, law enforcement, and lack of public trust in media, police, and government.

I think this actually could be a good thing because international military and law enforcement cooperation, intelligence sharing, and training is necessary for Actually preventing and mitigating transnational crime.
I just know that’s not why THIS administration is doing it, so yeah, its probs bad
