This conceptually reminds me of how Kingdom Hearts 3D for some reason contains an internal Madoka Magica reference.
The Super Mario 64 source code lists names for Mario's footstep sounds. The list starts off normal but becomes poetic with names like "Footsteps in the Fallen Leaves" and "More Than Anyone Else in the World". It turns out the names are actually taken from a 1994 dating simulator.

I love anime Dedede, but this is actually the one bit where I disagree with how he is written.
With the anime being an adaptation of DL1 and Adventure, one would expect there to be a positive turn for him like the one between those games.(He tried to save the world in Adventure, lol)

not only that, the anime is clearly based off the early games (dl1, adventure, etc) when he was still thought of as one of kirbys main enemies, so of course hes not going to act like how he does in the games *now*
