Girls in the locker room taunting Carrie, one is wearing a red shirt, red hat and overalls like Mario, who wouldn't be created for several years. The hat also has a rainbow heart on it which I don't think was a pride thing yet either?

Even the current phase has two parts. One started with the Birds of Prey soundtrack. Sofi Tukker was obv my shit but I also got hooked on Galxara, K.Flay and then the algorithm delivered Lizzo, Ashnikko, Bones UK, Stella Cole, Lenii, DEZI, and the big bridges to the next phase: ZAND and DeathbyRomy

Post college was a lot of coasting but the new stuff in the 2010s was mostly synthwave like Magic Sword, not exactly nerdcore Professor Elemental and a big dive into KPop starting with BIGBANG, into Monsta X, Taemin, Mamamoo and Sunmi with that trend towards femme artists continuing into phase 3...

College was mostly the same artists and genres. Tool, Harvey Danger, Groove Armada, Aphex Twin, Bloodhound Gang, Primus, Nerf Herder, System of a Down, plus nerdcore hip hop stars MC Chris and MC Frontalot all took on a bigger role but I'd heard them before.

There were forays into harder music like Ministry, Coal Chamber and especially Stabbing Westward, but also softer alternative like Weezer, Folk Implosion, Tragically Hip and Badly Drawn Boy. Plus oddballs like Soul Coughing, Beck, Cake and TMBG.

I got Talking Heads and Beatles from my parents. REM and Butthole Surfers from my older sister. Daft Punk's Homework was the first tape I bought and that was really formative.

High school added more electronic with Chemical Brothers, Underworld and Fatboyslim, but not immediately...

There's at least 3 phases to my tastes.
1. High School/college and my Parents' music that stuck (90s-00s/older)
2. Synthwave & KPop (2010s)
3. Modern music very little of which is older than like 2018

There are many ways to structure a TTRPG book with pros and cons.

Put character creation first: engaging for players but lacks context.
Setting first: immersive but delays the "how do you play" bit.
Rules first: dry but helps you understand the rest.
