Someone’s got to be the EBUG.

This is also the exact difference between the average Cubs fans who sit in the right-center bleachers at Wrigley, and the average Cubs fans who sit in the 200 level at Wrigley but in front of the pillars.

With apologies to both the actor and the fictional character, this is what I imagine the character of Richard Gilmore from Gilmore Girls looked like when he was at Yale.

I was looking some things up about the Bears consecutive weeks of winning 25-24, and found this nugget.

There have been 20 NFL games that ended 25-24. 9 of those 20 have involved two franchises (Bears 3-0, Bills 2-4).

I'm torn on this.

1) I want umpires to not award 1st base when there's no serious attempt to avoid.

2) I'd even be ok with not-slow-motion replay and umpires checking their opinion from another view.

3) But I really REALLY want to disincentive pitchers being wild with 90-105 MPH thrown balls.

The Mariners threw only 100 pitches, the fewest by a team to win a postseason game since the Dodgers in Game 2 of the 2018 NLDS against the Braves

If you’re calling men shrill, then I tip my cap and walk away.

Word needs to be reclaimed. Because of all the shrill bastards yapping about women with great thoughts having annoying voices to their poor wittle ears.

If you have employees that can handle the nuts and bolts, sometimes the name is enough to bring in the talent at a high enough level.

Then again, outside of QBing a team dependent on their defense to a Super Bowl, Dilfer wasn’t a name to kids these days. There aren’t Dilfer YouTube highlight reels.

Unfortunately, complaining about how BlueSky hurt their feelings IS the career of liberal-but-not-left journalists these days.

It’s not about feelings. It’s only partially about fodder. It’s also unintended using of words consistently used for others‘ misogynism. No man is called shrill.
lovesportsfacts.bsky.social
Maybe, rethink using “shrill” in the future since we live in a post-Hillary and post-Kamala elections world. Legitimate criticism DOES get caught up in noise of words consistently used in a misogynistic manner.

Even if accurate.

Even if the person should be criticized as a biblical plague.

I completely 100% agree with the intention of this message, but choosing to respond without a shred of tangible content and use of the word “shrill” is literally the fodder this writer will put in their future works as proof of “see, I was right, look at how people responded to me.”

Maybe I’m just old, but I appreciate 92 wins, winning one postseason series, and making the series we lost competitive.

Is it great? No. Is it rough? Also no. Was a solid season overall, except for Kirk/Shaw, and dealing with other fans tearing their hair out when they played .500 ball for months.

Again, not trying to defend ChatGPT, but I’ll give guys like this a little credit for realizing their gut instincts are horrible and looking for a touchstone.

And not having that touchstone be things like Andrew Tate or Men’s Health Magazine.

Now, he needs to move even more in a better direction.
lovesportsfacts.bsky.social
Yeah, there’s a reason guys like that turn to ChatGPT, it’s not like many guys’ instincts of how to date and communicate are naturally good to begin with.

Not saying ChatGPT is better, but it certainly is safer/lowkey than lovebombing or all sorts of choices I’ve seen some guys make.

I have Cubs 102-109 there. Just wondering where you found 120-107, if it’s a me thing, you thing, or some weird confluence of miscommunication.

And you see it in reverse in Chicago, when DET or MIN are good, their fans pack the stadium against the White Sox. Even when the Sox are good. Because rich south and southwest suburban White Sox fans won’t travel into the city because they’re scared of minorities, and normal ones value their money.
lovesportsfacts.bsky.social
Instead, a segmen of rich mostly north suburban Cubs fans will shell out big money to buy tickets on secondary market, and the equivalent group of rich mostly west suburban Brewers fans save their money for other things and watch the game at home or a bar.

It’s more than math. It’s specific values.
lovesportsfacts.bsky.social
The guy with the flag chose to be a jerk, so I’m not defending him, or even trying to bash Brewers fans, but…

If the team can sell out games and have no discernible opposing fans when other teams come to town (which yes, happened multiple times this year), they can do it when the Cubs come to town.
lovesportsfacts.bsky.social
I’m a Cubs fan.

He’s right.

Wearing Cubs gear and cheering your team on the road is nothing to feel bad about.

Going to another team’s stadium and holding a sign saying it’s your team’s stadium too is intentionally rude. And if you are intentionally rude, you suffer the consequences.

Interestingly, he didn’t play for any of those clubs in his age 30s seasons, only 20s or 40s.

I’m just rooting for a Game 6.

Hegseth announced today that Qatar is building a facility on an Air Force base in Idaho to let their air force pilots train with U.S. pilots.

I'm sure the Muslim-loving people of Idaho will have no problem with this.
