1841 New York. When Charley Lovejoy delivers his runaway sister to a radical new school for Black & white girls, he doesn’t expect to fall for one of the teachers—or to find himself in the middle of a town on the edge of revolt.

Incredible photograph from New Orleans' No Kings rally which will be in the morning paper here.

Doesn't look like a "Hate America rally" to me.

NY State, 1851. A story about summoning your courage, finding your power—even when the world tells you you're powerless—and using it to make the world a better place.

(No parallels to modern life there.) 😂

Yes!
Anyone who turns their nose up at ~genre fiction~ (like scifi, specfic, romance, etc.) as being inferior to ~literary fiction~ and thus not worth reading is a boring snob who lacks imagination and i have no time for them.
Tell me your most unhinged literary opinion, as a little treat

One of my favorite parts of the self-publishing process is when I get my first glimpse of the finished page...

Pretty, eh?

I used Dacre as the basis for a character in one my books. It was really fun to explore her lesser known works, especially her poetry!
I've always said that if I were to move to the West Coast, I'd have to move to Portland...
Portland, I love you! 💙❤️💙

This gives me great hope, and a good chuckle.

All else aside, I cleaned my fridge out today, after more than a year.... And it feels good.
Epilogue is (finally) written. She's with the editor now!

Nothing brings me more joy than waking up to a long, chatty email from a reader.

Human connection is where it's at.
I think the hero of my next book might have to be a judge...

Guns drawn. Windows smashed. With a 1 month old in the car. (They did this as he was coming home from an immigration court appointment— which is illegal in Colorado: coloradosun.com/2025/10/01/i...)
'cause who among us doesn't need a good Sunday morning cry?
Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 that she understood would only be released after her death.
Today's pledge: When I am a famous, big time author, I will make a point to seek out & support quality debut indie authors.

Not ignore them, and make them feel like they're not worth my time.

I'm so sick of successful indies who talk the talk but only give due to trad pub authors.
3 more chapters to revise, and it's off to the editor!

Oh, and I should probably write the epilogue.

This is the most difficult part of the process...I'm going to be so sad to let these characters go!❤️😢

Oh man, I feel this. I'm a historical romance writer who doesn't glorify rich dudes and writes imperfect MCs, and I can't tell you how many negative reviews I get that boil down to: this book challenged me, and made me think and feel things...

I mean, isn't that the point?
