The Russian shadow fleet tanker Kairos, damaged by a Ukrainian naval drone, is now off Bulgaria’s coast. Bulgarian authorities say a Turkish tug towed the burning vessel into their waters and then left it. Rough seas on Dec 6 prevented boarding. The crew has enough food and water for several days.

With the U.S. pivoting to the Pacific and signaling it wants Europe to take more responsibility, Kubilius stresses the need for backup security guarantees/readiness.
