This is what solidarity looks like.

Say it with me- We. Are. The. University.

And we will NOT stop fighting until this administration listens to ALL of us. Staff, Students, and Community are united!

A huge turnout in Nottingham today, around 300 staff and students standing together against cuts.
Powerful speeches, real solidarity, and a clear message: we won’t let our universities be dismantled.

We are the university. ✊if you’ve not voted there is still time! Get it in!

48 courses have already been suspended. University council is expected to sign their death certificate. No music, no languages, no mental health nursing.

Stand with UCU and all workers and students at UoN against academic vandalism.

Thank you to @nadiawhittomemp.bsky.social and her support for our Nottingham members who are facing horrendous cuts!
Solidarity with @uonucu.bsky.social members striking over the possible 200+ job cuts at the University of Nottingham, after 650 staff lost their jobs in the past two years.

I also share their deep concerns about new plans to suspend 48 courses, including nursing, modern languages, and music.
An amazing day of solidarity with staff, students, and community members saying NO to compulsory redundancies and unnecessary course closures.

You know it's a pretty bad decision when the response from people is to create about 100 different petitions...

Sign every one. Let's fight this by all means necessary.
Although I am inevitably caught up in the likely dire implications for my department (Music), it isn’t just us in the Faculty of Arts or in the university under threat.

Do consider signing this petition in support of colleagues teaching Theology!

Devastated to share the news that was broken to colleagues in Music (and other departments) at the University of Nottingham yesterday. This is obviously a very difficult time for us and our students.

When I studied German (elsewhere) many years ago, Nottingham was considered one of the very best places to go for modern languages. It’s sad to see such an important subject being devalued, and the university devaluing itself as a consequence.
