I'm surprised we haven't seen a state try to get rid of voting altogether. Constitutionally, they're allowed to do that. If a state wants to pick electors for president via legislature vote, or governor's choice, they're legally allowed to do it that way.

Does anyone else get the same vibes from Pritzker as Chris Christie? This isn't a joke about their weight, they just both come off like sleazy politicians with mob ties.

Genuinely and very seriously want to start a business where I just spend all my time searching for lost media. Get hired by studios to go into their archives and organize and label every single thing they have. Make sure nothing goes unchecked. If someone wanted to hire me to do that I would do it.

TIL the guy who created and sold stuff like x-ray specs and sea monkeys in magazines, Harold von Braunhut, was a white supremacist who hung out with Nazis and the KKK. He ran the "National Anti-Zionist Institute" from the same address where he sold children's novelty items.

"Filler" has become a big litmus test for me when it comes to film and television criticism. 9 times out of 10 what people are calling "filler" is actually character development and if you can't recognize that as "part of the story" then I don't know how to help you.

I just found out about the Madden movie and David O. Russell better not get that thing freaking cancelled. Just replace him and finish it. We can't lose this one to some racist director.

It'll be kinda wild if Wake Up Dead Man doesn't get nominated for Adapted Screenplay, but DOES get nominated for Cinematography. I think I'd be okay with that.

I went into downtown L.A. for the first time today and I really enjoyed it. Long trip either way but it made me feel less isolated from the world. I feel like I can go places and do things more easily now that I'm used to the travel of it.

Trump will always be fascinating to me because he genuinely had no reason to run for president and all it's done is ruin what was left of his reputation. Remember when he announced? He hosted freaking SNL. He was beloved by all sides. Now he's hated by all sides and he could have avoided it all.

This is a great post but it's particularly funny to me because as someone who graduated high school in 2006 I absolutely cannot relate.
Why do they keep making new music when the best stuff all came out when I was a teen?

Inconsequential pondering but I wonder if the current state of things will lead to Trump leaving the GOP. It'd at least, from a political history standpoint, be kinda neat to have an "independent" in the White House for a short while. Unless he creates some kinda dumb "MAGA Party" instead.

Trump says it's wrong for Democrats to be telling the military to not follow illegal orders.
If he's fine with his administration doing illegal things then there's no reason someone shouldn't leak the full, uncensored Epstein files.

Is it true that would could completely eliminate federal income tax on people making under $100,000 a year, raise the income tax on people making more than $500,000 by 20%, and it would basically even out tax revenue? If so...why the hell are we not doing that?
