For decades, Jehovah’s Witnesses have produced short, high-impact brochures designed to introduce their beliefs clearly and persuasively. Until now, there has been nothing comparable written for Jehovah’s Witnesses who are questioning — something brief, accessible, carefully sourced, and designed to encourage calm reflection rather than confrontation. “You Should Not Fear Him: Why It’s Okay to Question the Truth” is a new full-color brochure I’ve been working on quietly for many weeks. It distills the most important reasons Jehovah’s Witnesses should examine their beliefs, using the Bible, Watchtower publications, and historical evidence — all presented in a familiar, non-threatening format. The brochure is structured around seven sections, covering: *“New light” and doctrinal flip-flops *The 607 BCE / 1914 teaching *Armageddon predictions *Shunning *Blood transfusions *Mishandling of child abuse *Common “thought-stopping” defenses used to shut down questioning Throughout, the emphasis is on personal agency. Readers are not told what to think or what to do — only encouraged to reflect, verify sources, and reach their own conclusions. To give this project the best possible chance of existing at scale, and of being translated into multiple languages, it’s launching as a Kickstarter campaign. I'm extremely proud to reveal a new full-color brochure examining Jehovah’s Witness teachings, Watchtower history, and the role fear has played in shaping JW beliefs over the past century. Many Jehovah’s Witnesses are taught that questioning “the truth” is dangerous — even sinful. But the Bible itself offers a different standard: when religious claims fail, fear is not the appropriate response. Honest scrutiny is. Drawing on Watchtower publications, historical evidence, and quotations from the New World Translation, "You Should Not Fear Him" — Why It's OK to Question "the Truth" challenges core Jehovah’s Witness doctrines surrounding prophecy, authority, shunning, and Armageddon using facts, not hostility. This is not an attack on individuals. It is an invitation to think critically, examine evidence, and decide for yourself whether claims made in God’s name deserve your loyalty. A special campaign to support the release and translation of the Fear brochure launches January 20, 2026.
