How dare the BBC speak to people with lived experience - we wouldn't want voters knowing that refugees are human beings. And top marks to Zack for rattling everyone's cages with his responses too. Reform supporters are seething all over social media, their £9m donation can't change the facts.
The Express is furious about this because the moment you show those who repeat anti-immigration rhetoric the real human stories their narrative collapses.

The “immigrants” are people. Our friends, colleagues and family.

And it’s this nation of neighbours that is what makes Britain great.

What is wrong with Fiona Bruce? Why is Zia Yusuf being allowed to keep calling people seeking asylum illegal immigrants??
December 4, 2025 at 9:18 PM
Question Time off to a crap start with nobody differentiating between refugees and migrants - they are not the same!!! And seeking asylum is NOT illegal. Hope Zack Polanski gets to speak soon!!

Made a wreath today, at a free workshop run by a local initiative called the Green Skills Library - unfortunately they don't seem to be on BSky but you can find them on other social media if interested to know more.

So, jury trials in England and Wales for crimes that carry a *likely*sentence of less than three years are being scrapped.

Can you believe this is happening, based on what a sentence is *likely* to be? Who will be making that decision? I hope the entire criminal bar stages a mutiny.

So this Andy Ngo (who I've never heard of before) has written a book about how he believes "antifa" is destroying democracy but he's trying to prevent others exercising their right to free speech - without which democracy can't exist.

Guardian News and Media is considering next steps after a finding it was defamatory to describe Andy Ngo as an "'alt-right' agitator".

A shout out on this World AIDS Day to two men I knew who were lost very young to this horrible disease in the 80s and 90s, work colleague John - a very funny guy and Cayhim - amazing salsa dance teacher and only person ever to offer me a professional dancing job. Always remembered.

"Almost no other European country uses juries, except sometimes in exceptional cases. Most use judges and examining magistrates. They treat trials as matters of possibly contested evidence"

Those countries have an inquisitorial system, not adversarial. So are we retraining all the judges now?
David Lammy is right to slash the use of juries – it’s an open-and-shut case | Simon Jenkins
Barristers and criminals may not like the idea, but it’s key to reforming Britain’s antiquated and overloaded justice system, says the Guardian columnist Simon Jenkins

There is a great deal about this bill that is still very worrying. In a society that treats disabled people as 'less than' in so many ways, I am not sure this legislation could ever be completely safe. Its very existence would be perniciously coercive.

The Labour Party should probably charge its name to the Business Party. It certainly doesn't seem to have workers' backs any more. My maternal grandparents, who were lifelong Labour Party members would have been disgusted.

Very weird that the Chancellor decided to launch an attack on @zackpolanski.bsky.social in the middle of the budget. Yes he's worked as a hypnotherapist, and yet has a better understanding of economics than an Oxford & LSE educated economist.

To all the people who keep saying a wealth tax won't work because the super rich will leave the country or move their assets to avoid it - the law will be changed to ensure that they still have to pay their tax. The US taxes their expats, so can we.

Why not do away with trials altogether and just have summary justice and a police state? It would cut court backlogs.
