Not personally. I worked with several people who had and were active in that community, but that was pre-COVID, so I have no idea how all of that has changed. Things definitely got more restrictive during the pandemic. There should be tons of online community resources, though.

Some very unfortunate recent incidents made immigration a very tempting topic for the center-right parties and Musk is latching on to that with the AfD as the anti-immigrant OGs. I wouldn’t overestimate his direct influence.

I’ll do my part on Feb 23, and the wave of recent anti-right demonstrations give some reason for hope, but the overall trends (globally) are definitely not great.
The EU started a “blue card” program years ago, but as always totally botched the marketing etc., but that might be with looking into.

Do you have any recent ancestors, i.e., at most two or three generations back, with relevant passports? That would be the best bet in most European countries I’m aware of.

FlyingBlue is really coming through on this Hertz deal, saving a whopping US$95k (converted) on a four day rental! On top the 2.5 million miles I’d earn.
