Picked up both Tomb Raider remastered collections, both because of the recent announcement and because it's been ages since I last played them... I completely forgot they used tank controls. 😭 They do have modern controls, but that feels sacrilegious, so it's time to learn tank again.

I hate the online reaction cycle that praises a piece of art a lot and uses it as an example of what’s good about the medium but then the moment it gets awards or enough acclaim or fandom, suddenly we have to talk about how it’s actually not really that good and it’s overrated and always sucked

I think the biggest takeaway should be that in a year full of incredible games, HALF of the nominees for GOTY this year were indie games. And one of them won! Instead of getting mad that the one you wanted didn't win, celebrate that more independent studios are getting the recognition they deserve.

Damn, E33 suffering from success, everyone getting mad at their wins is kinda crazy. Their success isn't an indictment on the hard work of equally compelling and successful games in these categories, they just did what they did well. And I think that's pretty cool.
