They left us there to rot until we became a problem – a problem that they squashed without a single care in the world. If I’m such a burden and so broken, then why even bother with me? Just send me back to a cell. Let me live out my days cold and alone, somewhere where I can’t hurt or piss off anyone else! So why?”

“Because that’s what parents do.”
