I’ve realized my problem with romance books and romance in books is that when it’s bad I really hate it, and it sticks in my memory really well. But when it’s good I don’t remember how big of a role the romance had in me liking the book,,, for example:

Small Steps: The Year I Got Polio by Peg Kehret !!! I read it in elementary school so it’s not a difficult read, but her story is incredibly interesting & moving, and as anti vax sentiments grow I think it’s important for people to remember the devastating impact polio had.

I’m feeling like a hater right now so I’ll say I’m not a big fan of real people on the cover but I also really hate the current cartoon/drawing style on all the romance books.

I would say I like covers that are pretty, perhaps flower-y, and have a bunch of cool details
