Masiha Zarifi is graduating from Lincoln High, excited to study cyber security at Southeast Community College this fall. โ€œI really enjoyed MENA club! I got help with my study habits and scholarship applications. And I learned so much about other studentsโ€™ cultures,โ€ said Masiha.
Lincoln Public Schools leaders joined in the festivities and four hardworking graduates were awarded Asian Center scholarships. Special thanks to our friends at Union Bank & Trust for generously funding scholarships for our youth!
๐ŸŽ‰ Last week we celebrated our youth program graduates! The room hummed with the excitement of family and friends celebrating the achievements of 24 graduates from four local high schools.
๐Ÿฒ The Dragon Boat Festival takes place on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, and ZongZi is one of its most iconic traditional foods. Celebrating cultural heritage builds community and connection for our elders.
We know that loneliness and isolation are drivers of depression and poor health. Our programs for elders and women not only provide essential health and mental health education - they also create valuable experiences for local immigrant neighbors. ๐Ÿ’šโ™ฅ๏ธ
๐ŸŒŸ In 2024, Asian Center staff served 963 elders and women, spending more than 17,800 hours providing education and connection.
