I may as well post this old favorite while the louvre is in the headlines, I usually try to avoid what I call "a good photo of someone else's art", but this one's too good. Guessing these guys are french heroes or saints or something.

one of my favorites from fall a few years ago, I always liked how the rhythm of the birds matches the trees.

I make sure not to have a visible clock or look at my phone. It doesn't help me sleep, but it means I can ignore that dread until I see light coming in through the shades.
It's not a waste for them, they're buying future pardons, or FTC approval of their next merger / acquisition.
I think it's entirely possible for something to have rewatch value but for the first viewing to also be something special, not knowing what's coming. A spoiler shouldn't ruin something completely, but I don't agree that they shouldn't matter at all.
posting whatever this is today

This is part of a trend I really don't understand, where posting pics is the point of doing things, rather than, y'know, the thing itself.
There are at least a few things you could maybe do with AI, just not the mass adoption that boosters are expecting. nfts have basically zero applications, they exist to introduce scarcity into a system designed for infinite perfect copies.

I didn't leave Twitter because those guys were on it, I left because the algo was pushing their posts, serving me straight up racist programming every single day. Disturbing to think what a more impressionable person might take away from that.
I bet she thinks tea is British though
They don't have to be as bad or worse to still be pretty abysmally terrible. I still don't think they're examples we should hold up when we're thinking about where we go from here.
I agree with the first part, and in principle with the second, but I think things have to get a lot worse before organizing that would be possible.
Every successful nonviolent movement has been so with the full knowledge that "by any means necessary" was the alternative.
For protest to work you need a strategy, you need to have something they want to bargain for. Americans are taught this weird version of the civil rights movement that's like "people protested, and then those with power felt really bad and changed their minds"
