It does for sure. I can understand why a lot of writers tap more into the horror and misery side of it, though for me it's always been about the erotica aspects first.

That's understandable. It's something I've pushed against and toyed with in one of the Mechsplo stories I'm writing. It canonically has a happy ending, but like most stories there still has to be stakes and drama and tension... which makes act 2 of that story real rough.
