Last weekend’s family trip to Prachuap Khiri Khan was about more than paying respects. Jay’s cousin Jom welcomed us with coconuts from her orchard — cracked fresh for juice and sweet flesh, and even sent us home with mature ones to plant. That’s Thai culture: sharing, even in solemn moments.

Driving into Chiang Rai’s highlands meant narrow roads, sharp turns, and heavy mist over the ridges. The climb took us deep into the hills—toward villages and coffee farms that have been here for generations.

Our Songkran Day 1 started with Queen’s Wreath blossoms and birdsong on the farm. By afternoon, Lamae was alive—kids with buckets, barrels in truck beds, and pink splashes marking every passerby… even our bronze Subaru! 🚗🎨
