Chronic illness, disability, too many cats, and intolerant of intolerance. Trying to be me.
Glasheen's body language is... exquisite. 🤣
GLASHEEN: Antifa is our primary concern right now. That's the most immediate violent threat we're facing

BENNIE THOMPSON: Where is antifa headquartered?

GLASHEEN: ... ... ... we are building out the infrastructure right now

THOMPSON: What does that mean?

"Sanctions?" What'd they do, run out of tariffs? 😆
This is probably the clearest indication yet that the administration understands what they’re doing in the Caribbean is illegal.

They’re now threatening the ICC with sanctions if they investigate Trump and his team.
The U.S. is not a member of the ICC, but the court can still prosecute individuals for actions carried out on the territory of ICC member nations.

Idk about grandma, but it would be nice to have access to all the knowledge in my father's brain. He knew so much about cars, houses, woodworking, plumbing, electricity, etc. I've struggled to keep it all together since I can no longer pick up the phone and ask his advice.

Dear MAGAts:

Can I borrow a dime or two? This medical crap is killing me.

Thanks.

(And that's WITH insurance. I really don't like what next year will be like. 😱)

Trying to see my docs & refill all my prescriptions 1 last time before I lose my insurance.
One of my blood tests has come back wrong. Way higher level than it should be. What do you think are the odds than docs can figure out exactly what's going on and how to treat it in ~3 weeks?

Thanks, MAGAts.

You, too, might be chronically ill if you introduce yourself as "Jane Doe, February 30, 1984."

One of the worst parts of losing my insurance is trying to schedule EVERYTHING in December. As if it being Christmastime wasn't bad enough. My calendar keeps throwing itself off my desk.

In other news, my doc wants me to have a bone marrow biopsy. Oddly enough, I know exactly why and I know exactly what body part it involves.

Dear boss:

Sorry I can't work today. Neighbor is cutting down a tree and I have to go watch.

Remember the stories of lead and mercury being used in makeup, and how it could drive people insane or even kill them?

No reason, just thought I'd mention it.

This year I'm really grateful to #FrontierInternet for telling me if I pay them an extra $25 a month, I can get internet that actually works.
What is it they think I signed up for? I pay them a monthly price and they let me have internet whenever they feel like it?

Wait till they find out how old my car is.
This will never be me - I bought an M4 Mac Air just before my book tour - but I think the premise of "device hoarding" here is ridiculous. With every major purchase, buy as well as you can and then use that thing until you can't use it any more. That's just sensible.

Americans are holding onto devices longer than ever before, and while it may be consumer smart, it comes at a cost to work productivity and the U.S. economy.

What a morning.
Doc's office just called. My Rx for amlodipine had run out and I couldn't get it refilled. Messaged doc to ask her to fax in a refill.
I was supposed to have stopped taking it.
Back in May.
I have searched my brain and have no memory of the doc telling me that.

Sharing, because I didn't know there was a name for this phenomenon. Mine is just that top arch and it flickers and sparkles like crazy while it slowly drifts from left to right across my vision. At first it was followed by a migraine, but the past few years, it's just the scotoma.
I've been "enjoying" scintillating scotomas more often recently. They're difficult to describe, and images online don't really capture it. But the first thing I thought when I saw them was "I should make a shader of this" – so here's a demo, it's pretty close: meetar.github.io/scotoma/
