What the hell happened to Ajax? This team would be in a relegation battle in the Premier League. Chelsea’s (largely) second string cruising despite barely exerting themselves
Very sorry to hear this Sam. Best of luck and hope to see you soon

“He looks really at ease. It doesn’t surprise me that the fans have already been charmed by him.” Palmeiras youth academy coordinator Joao Paulo Sampaio knows Estevao Willian better than most - his fast adaption to #CFC is the talk of Brazil. 👇 www.nytimes.com/athletic/672...
What Brazil thinks of Estevao: ‘He looks really at ease – that doesn’t surprise me at all’
Some doubted he could perform against the biggest teams but the teenager's start at Chelsea is capturing the imagination in his homeland

What a moment for Estevao. What a win for Chelsea and Maresca. Their best performance and result without Cole Palmer in the Cole Palmer era
Mourinho back at Stamford Bridge coaching a squad that includes a Ferreira and an Ivanovic.

Football heritage
Death, taxes and Danny Welbeck scoring against Chelsea
You’d think it would be a source of acute embarrassment at this point that however poor they may be, Manchester United always know that hard running and physicality will be enough to bully Chelsea at home
Another bad moment for Sanchez, who gave Chelsea panic when they needed reassurance from their goalkeeper.

Chelsea’s ability to find new and ever more creative ways to shoot themselves in the foot at Old Trafford really is remarkable

Chelsea have to settle for a point 🤝

Plenty for @mattdaviesadams.bsky.social, @sjohnsonsport.bsky.social & @thom-harris.bsky.social to get stuck into on Monday’s pod…

We’ll look back on this game AND look ahead to Wednesday in Munich 🇩🇪

Let’s get your thoughts/ questions!

Also not at all surprised to see Cucurella on for Hato at HT. an awkward first start for him inverting into midfield, to put it mildly
Tosin as the last defender against a fast forward usually means big trouble.

Even more worrying is Chelsea’s attack. Aside from the (very) occasional flash of Brighton-era chemistry from Joao Pedro and Buonanotte, there’s been nothing to trouble Brentford’s low block
The only entertainment in the final minutes at London Stadium has come from watching how desperate Kudus is to not celebrate scoring a goal against West Ham
Pablo Torre isn’t just a brilliant journalist. He’s also a groundbreaking one, unveiling the kind of investigative reporting that turns a sport upside down primarily on a personalised (and very entertaining) podcast/Youtube show rather than through a traditional media outlet. It’s remarkable
Huge news. His football decisions have been questionable at times but Levy’s done a brilliant job with Spurs from a business perspective. He leaves them as sustainable top four/five contenders with one of the best club stadiums in Europe
Daniel Levy has stepped down as the chairman of Tottenham Hotspur after nearly 25 years in charge.

Social media football culture, in all its flippant toxicity, couldn’t be further removed from the reality of how players think and feel
Hi mate - the situations were absolutely different. My point is that when feeling the (completely understandable) impulse to villify a player who forces an exit, fans should also bear in mind that professionalism often doesn’t pay for players. Clubs will look out for their own interests always

An explainer on #CFC’s intense end to the window.
• Delap’s hospital scan during Fulham game stopped Jackson loan
• Bayern revived talks due to Guiu
• futures of Chilwell, George, Sterling, Disasi, Datro Fofana on final day
• squad stronger for better PL challenge

Inside Chelsea’s final 48 hours of the window: Delap injury, Guiu recall, Jackson switch
Chelsea's window got a lot busier after an injury suffered by Liam Delap against Fulham. This is the inside story of that 48 hours
www.nytimes.com
Another big takeaway: Isak and Wissa get their desired moves, Guehi is made to stay. What are the incentives for player behaviour in future windows?
Can’t remember another deadline day where so many deals fell apart at the finish line. Lots of players being messed around by shifting club interests

🚨 EXCL: Ruben Loftus-Cheek called into England squad for upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers. AC Milan midfielder last appeared for national team in 2018 but Thomas Tuchel knows 29yo from Chelsea & now included for Andorra + Serbia fixtures 🚨 @theathleticfc.bsky.social

Ruben Loftus-Cheek called into England squad for first time in six years
The 29-year-old has not played for England since November 2018.

I completely forgot about the Diaz transfer 😂😬
I’ll certainly defer to your Bayern knowledge on that, but surely they wouldn’t have done this deal if they didn’t have a plan for him?!

It’ll be interesting to see if he plays a bit off the left, with Kane
Nicolas Jackson is good. Flawed, but good. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him show that at Bayern and justify the £70m valuation
