Never in the history of the US has any president openly and repeatedly called for the investigation, arrest & prosecution of his political opponents. While many continue to shrug these things off and normalize them, I will never stop pointing out that this is what autocrats do.

DHS deceptively spliced images from different cities and times in videos sowing fear about "chaos" in Chicago and Washington, D.C., a WaPo investigation found.

DHS used footage from years ago, half the country away, or even in international waters, the Post found.

A US Drug Enforcement Administration agent said the DEA made “high-level arrests” of 171 Sinaloa Cartel members across New England in August.

A Globe investigation found that many of the DEA’s targets were addicts, low-level dealers, shoplifters, and homeless people.
The DEA said they arrested 171 ‘high ranking’ Sinaloa Cartel members. A Spotlight investigation found that’s not true. - The Boston Globe
A Globe investigation found that the federal agency misrepresented the stature of its targets, claiming cartel ties at a time when the Trump administration is taking lethal military action against such groups.

Common sense suggestion, as everyone had an opinion but its often based on misinformation or disinformation
I’ve been thinking a lot about a new kind of polling I’d like to see. We have polling that measures public opinion, which is obviously important, but I’d love to see a little more empirical work on public knowledge: what do voters know about politics and policy?

It’s worth noting that if a parent took a minor child across state lines without the permission of the other parent, that would be considered kidnapping. But I guess that’s okay when it’s the federal government.

This cannot be true …
Does Hegseth realize that he, unlike Trump, can still be prosecuted for his actions? And if it comes to that, Trump will throw him under the bus in a millisecond?
Sign an NDA about actions taken while in uniform, as part of the nation’s military?
Maybe they should watch Russell Crowe’s new Nuremberg movie when it comes out next week. Just some helpful advice.

California is preparing to send its own state observers to watch over federal monitors from President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice. The move underscores a growing standoff between state election officials and a federal government many voting rights advocates say is weaponizing oversight.

The private detention centers ICE contracts with to hold thousands of people — including journalists it arrests — shouldn’t be off-limits to FOIA requests.

Use our action center to tell your member of Congress: FOIA should apply to private facilities.
