I think it is the athletes decision depending on the severity of the injury (ex. Concussion). It really just depends on the situation.

That is amazing that he used himself to be a role model for younger athletes.
This is very empowering to young athletes as it shows that you can do hard things while expressing yourself in other ways as well.
Manon Rhéaume was the first woman to play in the NHL and the first woman to sign a professional hockey contract. She challenged the norm of feminism as in the past when this happened, hockey was seen as a male dominated sport. This has empowered many young female athletes.

Yes, as once they succeed it makes the accomplishment better. It might not feel good at the time but it will.

I want to become an occupational therapist. I am very physically active now and I would want to continue that in the future. I will maintain a healthy lifestyle and do recreation sport including softball.
Small towns around Saskatchewan and other provinces in Canada provide a basketball program for kids called the Junior NBA. It is all equal playing time to get kids involved and learning about basketball. It is student/ teachers/parents coaches and requires specific courses to coach.

I would define a sport as an activity that involves a collective set of rules where you are competing against someone else or a team and includes physical activity. If it is missing any of the above, it isn’t a sport.
