Edmonton Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels came out with a good stat yesterday. With a 4–0–2 record through six home games, it's the longest home points streak to open a season for the Oilers since 2000–01. The fact y hat the Oilers have continued to make Rogers Place a tough place to play is commendable. Yet, it also disguises one harsh truth: the Oilers have not played well at all away from home.

Really gotta talk to someone at ETS because there's no reason OWL service should have such a long-ass layover at a transit centre. Either the schedule is ridiculous or the driver is killing time for the sake of killing time. Neither explanation is a sufficient one.

I missed the news that my favourite hockey goalie of all time, iconic Canadian Ken Dryden of the Montréal Canadiens, passed away of cancer. Altho he went on to contribute greatly to Canada in many ways, I’ll always be that kid in a Montreal back alley pretending to be Dryden defeating Tretiak. #RIP
