I still can't get over Jones winning in the primary. His (female) opponent had a long impressive career. Jones has been coasting on family political connections and has very little legal experience, which is what I am looking for in an AG. Jones should have put in the work before running.

Well, definitely don't go to the Alabama Theatre, which is where dumb white folks go to see elementary school level skits. My one and only visit to Myrtle Beach involved this hellhole. My grandma loved the show and wanted to take me. I loved my grandma, but she had horrible taste.

Really starting to love this governor. Definitely my leading choice for 2028 (if we still have elections by then). I did wonder if the American people were willing to elect a fat and not very attractive man, but then I remembered people voted for Trump, so there is a precedent.

I am not a NY citizen, but I sent a message to Jeffries, expressing my displeasure about the Adams statement. Who praises a politician who takes bribes? Why is this guy Minority Leader? I hate Schumer, too. Both are totally useless. Why don't the Democrats have decent Congressional leadership?

I grew up in a family that refused to even recognize that a child had severe autism. From the time I was eleven, I argued with adult family members about said child. This refusal impacted his ability to get diagnosed and receive educational services.

My grandfather was captured in the Philippines and went to a POW camp. He watched his fellow soldiers beheaded and being tortured. He ate bugs to survive. He always warned his family that there are power hungry people who want to destroy democracy.

Not from NJ, so no first hand knowledge there. But I remember that in American Hustle, a NJ mayor was caught in an FBI sting. I assume that fiction counts as a source now in our post truth era. I have lived in two towns where local politicians were successfully prosecuted for taking bribes.

The tempo is absolutely wonderful, there is never a wasted minute. This combination of war and horror films is an improvement on both. I do wish that they had included the deleted scene about Ripley's deceased daughter, which explained her instant attachment to Newt.

Yes, it is also consumer driven. Most people like the familiar, which is why we have an entertainment industry that produces an endless stream of Jurassic Park movies and constant reboots. Why do so many folks like watching different versions of dinosaurs munching on people?

I enjoyed Titanium Noir. I didn't know about le Carre being his father. I don't like that when a writer dies that publishers hire someone else to continue writing in their created world (see new Dune books, for example). Let authors create original works, rather than trying to mimic someone else.

How would you know if it is a best or good translation? Evaluating a work in another language is rather difficult. When I read works translated into English, I do wonder about the quality of the translation, especially if I don't like the work. Was the work bad or was the translation poor?
