Political donations in all forms and for all parties turns politics and especially elections into a give-and-take transactional phenomenon benefitting the top 0.1% rather than a genuine system of policy debate. Labour should use their huge majority to go hard on, not just this, but the whole system.

I'm hoping the story that they want to tell will come with the results of these actions. Get the hard stuff done in the first year, then promote the successes in years 2, 3, 4 and 5. Relies on growth happening, so a risky move, but could be fruitful by 2029 if the country is doing well by then

Just finished reading #YearOfTheLocust - a book of two halves. First half 9/10, second half 3/10. Without spoiling, it felt like reading two different books across two different genres... the final 100 pages were a battle 😬
