We all want this shutdown to end. Families are stretched thin, workers are missing paychecks, and the uncertainty is real for millions of Americans. But I will be voting no on the deal the Senate is sending over to the House.
I’m hearing stories every day from my constituents who are facing healthcare premiums rising so high that they may not be able to afford any health care at all.

I’ll keep fighting to extend the ACA tax credits to lower healthcare costs for the American people.

Allowing offshore drilling off the California coast won't lower gas prices. This reckless decision won’t bring down the cost of living.

Honored to recognize Mel Vernon, Captain of the San Luis Rey Band of Mission Indians, as my November Constituent of the Month.

I’m thankful for all of you and the opportunity to serve our district.

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours!

Despite Trump’s false claims to the contrary, Thanksgiving dinner is 10% more expensive this year. This administration has failed miserably to reduce costs for the average American.

The Trump Administration wants new drilling off our beaches even though the law is against it, the economics don’t justify it, and Californians want no part of it. Our coast is our identity and our economy. One spill would be catastrophic. I’m fighting to protect it permanently.
November 26, 2025 at 3:48 PM
Southern California shouldn’t be sacrificed so oil companies can chase a few barrels that won’t move gas prices at all. Our coast powers tens of thousands of jobs, and one spill could wipe them out. Trump’s drilling scheme is risky, unnecessary, and likely illegal. We’re going to stop it.

I joined my colleagues outside of the federal building where ICE detainees are reportedly being held to conduct oversight. It’s our duty and our right.

Great to see IBEW members in D.C.! I’m committed to investing in workforce development and supporting hard-working Americans building out our energy future. Grateful for their partnership and advocacy.

Thank you to our D.C. fall interns for your hard work and service throughout this unpredictable session! It was a privilege to have you all on the team.

Families are facing higher health care premiums and Mike Johnson won’t even promise a vote on the issue—let alone promise to work with us and fix it. Millions will be priced out of their health insurance if Congress doesn’t act fast.

Trump is dismantling the Department of Education while our kids face the toughest learning challenges in decades. As a public school parent myself, I see what this means: fewer protections, fewer resources, fewer opportunities. He’s abandoning our students and sabotaging our future.
November 23, 2025 at 11:07 PM
The Trump Administration has officially announced their disastrous plan to allow offshore drilling off the coast of California. Not only does this harm our coastal ecosystem and economy, but Californians say NO WAY. I will continue to fight this decision in every way that I can.

I never thought I’d say this: recently, I found myself agreeing on a few things with Marjorie Taylor Greene.

The House of Representatives must protect the discharge petition. These days, it is the only way popular, bipartisan bills can get a vote when a weak Speaker refuses to allow them.
November 21, 2025 at 7:40 PM
Senators buried a clause in the funding bill giving themselves up to $500K of taxpayer money if investigators ever subpoena their phone records. I say hell no to this shameless self-enrichment scam.

Let me be clear: drilling off the Southern California coast must be banned entirely. It puts coastal communities at risk of toxic oil spills that decimate coastal economies, threaten human health, harm marine life, and put critical wildlife habitat at risk.

This latest report on the Trump Administration’s boat strikes is alarming. When the top lawyer warns the operations may violate U.S. and international law, you listen.

One day after the Trump family scored a contract with a Saudi developer, Trump was in the Oval Office lavishing praise on the Crown Prince. The lines are blurred between what is official U.S. government business and what is benefitting the Trump family.

I was honored to receive a Resolution of Appreciation from the North County Fire Protection District for our work to secure $7 million to build a new fire station adjacent to Camp Pendleton.

If we’re going to have a bipartisan deal on permitting, the Trump Administration must stop undermining clean energy projects. Cheap energy is clean energy.

House Democrats are speaking loudly and clearly that you can’t have real permitting reform when the President is breaking the law to block cheap, clean energy.

REMINDER: Republicans are running out of time to extend ACA premium tax credits; Southern California families are already seeing their premiums DOUBLE.
