Most of these are Snowgeese or Sandhill Cranes. However, there appear to be some Whooping Cranes, too. All lighter in color. And evidently attracted by water because that's where they all were.

Every time I look, I am amazed at how different they are from mammals. Then I remember: There is a good chance that these are the descendants of the avian dinosaurs that survived the extinction event ~66 Ma. They're dinosaurs, not mammals.
