To be fair, a day old baguette is armour piercing. Used to eat half of one every morning in France in the 1990s. Had to cake it with jam and dip in the bowl of coffee. Heaven help you if you had to tackle a full one with no one to share it with.

My father experienced anti Irish sentiments in the 50s and 60s when he worked in London.. All the slurs. I always think of him. Challenging them is pointless. They have no comprehension.

My English in laws in their 70s have gone from Labour and Lib Dem supporters to far right. Immigrant this and immigrant that. Not a bloody immigrant anywhere near them. No bearing in their lives at all. Glued to Youtube and GB News for hours a day. Now obsessed with a civil war starting. Exhausting.
