So very excited for the lecture tonight on the restoration of this virtually unknown silhouetted crucifix by Pesellino ca. 1450. Now on view at #FraAngelico at Palazzo Strozzi, Florence

#Renaissance #EarlyModern
Oh my. We must elect Cuomo now!
My favorite college professor said that he was an art historian because humans did so many horrible things, he wanted to focus on something they did that was beautiful. Gorgeous and powerful bronze Dying Gaul... by Kehinde Wiley, 2022. Balm for the soul.

I must say, I do love my robot vacuum.
They will just never, ever criticize him, no matter how stupid, craven, and/or illegal his actions.
Was there for Christmas last year. Such a fabulous city. And the food!!!
Why would the #Medici have sold this? Hard to believe it is the painting from the inventory. Need to read the #FraAngelico catalogue entry
This gem from Detroit is practically lost in its gallery hanging across from the immense, and immensely beautiful, reconstituted San Marco Altarpiece. #FraAngelico definitely outshines Jan Van Eyck in this case. Was this once attributed to Petrus Christus?

Just spent the entire day with #FraAngelico. Why would such a wee crucifix need two painters to finish it. In the gallery at San Marco it is given to Lorenzo Monaco and Angelico.
So great to see this in the exhibition in Florence!
This was actually a few weeks ago, but #Florence was blessed with the sun for the first time in a week today! #Firenze #Badia #medievalsky

As well as his press secretary’s use of “Your mom did” as an appropriate response to reporter questions.
“Last week, when HuffPost asked the #WhiteHouse who chose Hungary [for] an upcoming meeting between #Trump and President Vladimir Putin of Russia, the White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, responded, “Your mom did”

More outrageous behavior from the “violent individuals who should never have been pardoned.” So relieved they have arrested the guy. Hopefully he will be jailed for a good long while.

So is this a metaphor or just gross?

Pro tip: don’t mutter f&@cking a$$h0le while stuck in passport line with a 9:30 departure and you mishear them call 9:25 as 9:35. All to hurry up and be stuck on the tarmac on a humid bus waiting for the plan crew to be ready to let us on the plane.
Oh Schiphol, I have not missed you. Why Delta only gave me 90 minutes between flights I’ll never know.
So glad to have just landed in Amsterdam and can pretend like this is someone else’s crumbling democracy. Italy in three hours!
It would be nice if the US had a system of government that didn’t allow the president to arbitrarily tariff whoever he wanted, except we very explicitly do, and since no one seems to care or react, then I guess the rules of our government no longer exist
Trump says he's imposing new tariffs on Colombia but won't say what the rate will be

True. But separating her only reinforces the ridiculous obsession with having a selfie in front of her. Not that 99% of the people cramming in there have any idea why she matters or is interesting. I wonder where they will put the Venus de Milo. Her current position is a hazard!
