🧵 Below is a link to a sound story I made with my partner Tom.
In it, sleight-of-hand magician, Fergus Anckorn talks about his experiences as a 24-year-old Artillery gunner during the Second World War.
Male magician, dressed in suit and bow tie. Hands spread out with thimbles on each of his spread out fingers.

Marketa Luskacova.

To Remember — London Street Musicians 1975–1990.

Marketa captured her images in East and West London from the street markets around Brick Lane or Portobello Rd.
You can tell that she had an amazing gift for empathy.

The Lee Miller show at Tate is so rammed it's hard to see. But as an alternative, a great exhibition at the Photographers' Gallery opens today on 100 years of photo booths.

All along the backwater,
Through the rushes tall,
Ducks are a-dabbling,
Up tails all!

’Duck’s Ditty’

A pond very dark water (almost black). A swan and two ducks with their heads submerged in the water. The two ducks’ bums are in the air.

Lelia Goldoni in Shadows.
This black and white image captures a woman looking upwards, captivated by the bright lights of a theatre marquee. She is wearing a hat and a textured jacket. The marquee is covered in numerous small lights.
Ben Carruthers as Ben— a musician who has lost his way.
The image is a screen shot from the film. It features a man with curly hair and a leather jacket reacting to an outdoor statue he is looking at. His mouth is open, and his eyes are wide as he looks upwards and slightly to the left. In the foreground, there is a statue— a partial view of a figure with a hand placed on the buttocks. The statue appears to be made of metal or stone, and there are water droplets on its surface.

In the background, there is a cityscape scene with buildings and bare trees, creating a blurred backdrop. This image shows a black and white close-up of a couple lying in bed. The woman is in the foreground, looking up at the camera. The man is behind her, with his head resting on the pillow and his eyes partially open. The lighting is soft, creating a sense of intimacy.

BW photo. A small hill. At the top of the hill is a cross statue. To its right is a telephone pole. In the foreground of the shot is another pole which goes from the bottom of the photo to the top of the photo. The rest of the image is the sky.

Tati’s ‘Monsieur Hulot's Holiday’ was never gonna attract a huge audience, but the 20 people who turned up last night seemed to know what they were in for — people gigging quietly to themselves at different things.
The image is a black and white photograph depicting a beach scene. In the foreground is a man wearing a bathing suit and sun hat, with a towel draped over his shoulders, standing in front of a big pole. The pole is between his back and his towel. In the background, there's a small building with a decoration on top, with its doors slightly ajar. To the right of the chapel, there is another man standing near a piece of machinery, possibly a beach cleaning or maintenance device.
