3:30 - 1 on 1 with Geoff Virtue (Executive Producer). This is a pretty important meeting I do every 2 weeks, and its a good time for us both as we kind of live in different worlds. I'm much more on the ground and can give vis on things like the core game, while he's much more in the business side of things and long term vision, so he can share that stuff with me. Find this highly valuable.

4:00 - Strategy Leads meeting with our Game Director, Art Director, Insights Director, Product Lead, and other Design director. A good meeting to make sure the non gameplay stuff is going in the right direction and talk through any difficult upcoming problems. I find this one especially valuable as its a rare time to interface with our head of insights, as he and I often have very different perspectives on the state of TFT (as in different viewpoints, not disagreements) and making sure those match up is useful.

4:30 - Insights and Design meeting. This is where some of the insights folks share some findings with the designers. For example today they are sharing their findings on High risk traits. These are good for a lot of our designers to hear, and I like to make sure the conclusions match what I'd expect, but I usually find myself already pretty aware of the results that get shared. Still worth confirming my biases though.

5:00 - This is a newer meeting I've been going to for the last 2 weeks, but its a meeting where the Live team meets with QA and comms and goes over their planned patch changes. Since I was off live I wasn't a part of this, but it seems valuable to make sure everyone has context on what's changing and bring up anything missing. I'm mostly an observer in this one, but still good to stay aprised of what's going on.

5:30 - Ok meetings are done for the day, now is where I can finally do my work. Right now my current main concern is Set 16 champs and traits, so I'll spend this time making any balance adjustments from Jam day, simming any high risk stuff, and there's 1 trait left to really make sure it's systems are solid this week and I'm going to do that. During this, my wife will say dinner at some point, so I'll take 30 min to go down and eat with the family once it's ready. Usually try to finish this block around 7-8pm.

Any time left, I'll watch a movie or play a game or something. Sadly it's never a very big block so it's usually not a ton.

8:30 - Put my son to bed, wrap things up, spend some time with my wife, and then go to bed around 9:30 or so to do it all again.

Heh, and even now just got a 2:30-3:00 meeting scheduled to go over S16 augments. So that 1 hour block is now a 30 minute block!

OCT 13 - A common question I get asked is "What is a typical day like for you". So, I figured I'd share using today as an example. Here is what my today looks like!

5:40am - Wake up. Grogily check the internet for any red flags on things like discord as my way of waking up. See if anything is on fire, then make my way to weigh myself and get ready.

6:00am - Walk the Dog time! Since it's not the podcast anymore, I actually walk Eevee. She loves it and goes into a frenzy when she sees me since she knows its walk time. Keeps me healthy, so still trying to walk every day.

6:45am - Breakfast with my wife and son (daughter usually just gets ready). Wife makes me bacon/sausage/eggs/toast/fruit which is good. Wife and I will discuss the goings on.

7:15am - Shower, get dressed, be ready to go. I'm usually done by 7:35 or so, which gives me 25 min to kill. Sometimes I'll set up my work computer early, or deal with any small personal stuff. Today I was all caught up so just doom scrolled lol.

8:00am - Take the kids to school. Since I work so much, it's good to make sure I get some solid time with them. I'll use this to talk to daughter and make sure all is good. After I drop them off, I get my wife her McDs breakfast she loves. Then make my way back home.

8:45am - I'm home and on my computer. From here, this is my first solid "My time" block. This is when I'd do stuff like player engagement, or maybe work on some balance, or any other project. I value this time highly. Normally I also have a 1 on 1 with BlueVelvet on Mondays unless his schedule has something else like today. But this is one of my most productive blocks. Today I'm doing this post, then I'm going to prep for my 10:30 and review last Friday's Jam day notes.

10:30am - This is our daily playtest block. This could be a future set (16/17/18 right now) or a set revival to help the modes folks (7.5)...but today since we just did a Jam day Friday, we're going to use this block to have the Set 16 pod and Finalization pod meet with me and go over any action items from the Jam day. Since we're almost done, have to picky and precise. Good use of time though!

12:00 - Lunch break. I'm pretty bad about actually using my lunch break though. I'll take 10 min to go downstairs and say hi to wife, grab something small (carrots) and get back to my desk. This is when I can respond to slack messages from teammates, or any quick work I can do. In the rare case I'm actually all caught up, I might sneak a TFT game.

1:30 - (No I don't have a 90 minute lunch, this is just the next meeting) Our weekly set leads meeting where I meet with Giovanni, Kent, and BlueVelvet and we go over each of the sets to update each other and call out focus areas to keep an eye on. I run this meeting, and this is where I'll say stuff like "I want to see X trait iterated on by next week" or "Make sure we've got this set mechanic ready" etc. BlueVelvet also provides product insight and direction as needed.

2:00 - Gameplay Initiative Leads meeting. This meeting isn't always the best use of my time (as a lot of the topics often don't impact me) BUT I still find it valuable as its a rare time for me to interface with Art/Engineering/QA which I don't do as much as I should sometimes. Occasionally some good conversations, so I don't mind.

2:30 - I have an hour block here. I hate blocks like this because an hour isn't quite enough time to get something solid done, so this becomes a block of answering slack or some very light work. I try to schedule 2 hour blocks where I can, but sometimes I just can't.
