🏚️ Several housing repairs requests
🚦The Averyhill/ Footscray Road crossroads (with TFL, again!)
I was particularly pleased to hear the Plumstead police counter was to remain open and that shops in Eltham High Street are being given radio links to tackle shoplifting.

👩‍💻Lauren’s update - September 2025👩‍💻

Council returned and I seconded a motion relating to Council funding. I also Chaired an Overview and Scrutiny meeting, attended the Harvest Festival at St James Mar Thoma church, and ran a half marathon for the Mayor’s Charities.
📄Drafted the Overview and Scrutiny annual report, which will be presented to the next Full Council 📄

🏃 I’ve also started to train for the Big Half, which I’m running in memory of my Dad. All money raised goes to the Mayor’s Charity Fund (Dementia support and Children’s Centres). Feel free to sponsor me here: justgiving.com/page/laurend...
🏖️ Coordinated ward funding across 4 different wards to help fund a trip to the seaside for our Children’s Centres families 🏖️ 💷

👧 Visited the St Mary’s School Council. It was wonderful answering their questions and hearing what they’ve achieved this year for their school and for their community🧒
👩‍💻Lauren’s update - June 2025👩‍💻

What a lovely sunny June we have had! Here are a few highlights from this month:

🏢 Joined a meeting with council officers about some persistent issues on the Strongbow estate and agreed next steps. The bench has also finally been fixed! 🏠
🏚️I continue to chase the possibility of the Council taking on the burnt out house on Alderwood Road. It’s private property, so our powers are limited, but I would love to see it turned into an RBG family home🏚️

If I can help with anything - do get in touch: [email protected]
🚗 I have raised technical issues which relate to applying for visitor parking permits 🚗

🧹 I have raised street cleaning issues on Eastmor Road 🧹

🤝 I visited a tenant and raised some maintenance and anti-social behaviour issues 🤝
There are fewer council meetings over school holidays but I’ve been busy picking up lots of casework, including:

🗑️ Requesting more bin collections for Eltham Park South on Sundays and Mondays (when the park keeper is off) due to the constant problems of overflowing bins following the weekend 🗑️
👩‍💻Lauren’s update - 15-31 May 2025👩‍💻

I hope everyone’s had a lovely end of May. I spent some time walking with friends in the Cotswolds and then had a family holiday over half term - both of which were lovely and I feel really refreshed (despite a sickness bug which also ravaged our house …)
🏠 I have received a lot of correspondence about the proposed STC site - I would like to reassure residents that I will be objecting to this proposed development on metropolitan open land 🏠

If I can help with anything - do get in touch: [email protected]
🚗 I spoke to council officers outside St Mary’s Catholic Primary about the proposed school street. Any local parents and residents who would like to feedback - please let me know 🚗
🍓 My family and I joined the Roots4Life family fun day with Councillor Fahy, who got on the smoothie bike and made us both a smoothie! The kids also loved the bouncy castles and we picked up a sunflower too 🌻
📑 I presented the Scrutiny Work Programme to Full Council and it was unanimously approved. As part of drafting the programme, we used the results from our public survey - thanks to all who responded 📑
👩‍💻Lauren’s update - 1 - 14 May 2025👩‍💻

👩‍⚖️ I chaired an Overview and Scrutiny Meeting where we looked at the air quality action plan, developer contributions and agreed our work programme for next year. I raised the need for new electric vehicle chargers to meet the British accessibility standard 👩‍⚖️
🎾 Yesterday I popped by Footscray Rugby Club to speak to Padelstars about their plans to build some Padel Tennis Courts at the Club. Please do let me know if you have any concerns about this 🎾

If I can help with anything - do get in touch: [email protected]
📑 I’ve been working closely with the Scrutiny team and the Scrutiny Chairs to draft next year’s work programme, which should be approved at Full Council in May. As part of this we used the results from our public survey - thanks to all who responded 📑
👩‍⚖️ I held a surgery at the Eltham Centre and have raised casework about anti social behaviour and improvements needed to social housing 👩‍⚖️

🏏 We have been successful at securing funding from the England Cricket Board to improve our cricket offering at Avery Hill Park and Eltham Park South 🏏
👩‍💻Lauren’s update - April👩‍💻

I’ve been quieter than usual last month as I was dealing with an unexpected personal bereavement.

Luckily the wonderful council team have been still picking up my casework so service to residents wasn’t impacted. Here are a few updates from the last month:
I’m over the moon that Eltham CofE School (Roper Steeet) is going to get a new zebra crossing on Archery Road, following my meeting with the Cabinet Member at the school in October 🙌 This will make it so much safer for the children.

Archery Road is going to be resurfaced too - Result! 💪
