I’m not interesting. But I do really care.
“Those billionaires owe something to the less lucky” believes the Duke of Norfolk. Dream on. Heard of Musk or Bezos children’s hospital? Cancer research centre? Mental health funding to fix all the head mess resulting from the Internet? Me neither.
Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos will not live forever, so perhaps they are contemplating how to deploy their billions in the long term. What can the descendants of the mighty aristocracy that dominated Britain from the Middle Ages to the first world war teach them? on.ft.com/48TRmg0

I don’t know what else to say about this. Except WOW.
Great culture can save lives. Literally.

I first discovered Backlisted after I moved back home to London in 2015 after 30+ yrs in the US. It reminds me of all I love about life here. The way you can bump into the old, the new, the smart, the funny & the thought provoking all served up with enthusiasm and utter lack of arrogance. Thank you!

Lib Dem leader Edward Davey calls for a national investigation into Russian political interference in British politics:

"Given Reform won't, he must. So will he know launch a national investigation into Russian infiltration into our politics?"

Starmer: "Reform is riddled with pro-Putin propaganda"

Brexit has cost each and every one of us £3,700 a year.

But instead of solving the problem, Labour are using Brexit as an excuse to raise your taxes.

My message ahead of the Budget: Stop blaming Brexit and start fixing it!

Still reeling from the Stanford report on Brexit. Reduced GDP by up to 8% and investment by as much as 18%. The UK Treasury would have £40 billion more each year if Britain had remained in the EU. Devastating self-immolation.

There is a direct line between Donald Trump trying to destroy the BBC and him excusing the brutal murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Trump hates the independent free press – whether in the US, Saudi Arabia or the UK. We will always defend it.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

Call it Obamacare or Affordable Care Act. Either way, it really really made a difference. And pissed off Republicans. Because they simply couldn’t do it. And now, like Roe vs Wade, it’s heading for the bin. SAD!
The moment when 30 million American's received healthcare (2010) The moment when insurance companies had to start covering preexisting conditions, young adults could stay on their family's policy and I could trust that the small print couldn't screw me if I needed serious medical assistance. 🇺🇸

Donald Trump destroyed public service broadcasting in the US - it's little surprise Nigel Farage wants to do the same thing here.

Trump’s America, don’t let it become Farage’s Britain.

Let’s get on with it already.

"Brexit has been a disaster for this country"

"Brexit has wrapped up small businesses in red tape"

It's right Andrew Mountbatten Windsor appears before US Congress over his links to Epstein and his victims.

He should also give evidence to our Parliament. The public deserve answers and full transparency about this scandal.

When I took these images of the East Wing, I knew it would be some time before I ever got to see them in person again. I never imagined no one would ever be able to see them in person again. 😞
