I worked as a civilian subcontractor on various bases in TX and LA. I loved listening to NCOs talking shit about “punk ass bitch officers” who spent their careers avoiding responsibility and writing requests for medals for themselves.

I met a lot of those officers.

They all had Hegseth vibes.

Sometimes when shit’s rough I can watch the opening sequence of Heat, from snipes to Pacino showing up at the ambush site, and I’ll feel more at peace with the world.

No clue what this is a red flag for but feels like it should indicate something.

Family Movie Night was Speed.

It’s crazy how many moments in it I can remember every millisecond of, as soon as the opening music starts, all these years later.

Also of note, zero of those memorable moments are from the added-on-as-fuck train sequence.

Today a man who gave me a good job 18 years ago died. I see people say Fuck Cancer when it kills somebody. I understand it. The anger and the futility.

I already want to tax the billionaires, but can we please do that and then fund Cancer research like there’s no tomorrow? Please and thank you.
