Hyper-local Dominionist deep dive. LancPA has a number of critical connections; let’s look closer. [email protected] #notajournalist

Greetings, Bluesky! I research dominionist churches, house of prayer, non- and for-profits on a hyper-local level in Lancaster, PA and the surrounding areas.

I encourage my followers to view these topics - and our everyday neighbors - with complexity. Increased division will not help our causes.

Didn’t expect to see this in Lancaster, PA. The billboard says, “Without due process, it’s just kidnapping.” Some truths should not be political.

Republican Scott Leinendecker is now the “sole owner of Dominion” > making the deal contingent on “dropping”remaining lawsuits against OANN & “prominent conservatives.” Leiendecker told the Caller that “remaining litigation” w/ Mike Lindell, Rudy Giuliani & Sidney Powell will also be “dropped.” 1/

When the conflict expands in scale & scope, the good feelings help propel people to do hard things. Shitting on the public rallies is fucking dumb. It's also ahistorical and lacks any serious engagement with the history of social movement successes in the US. It's just trashy demobilization.
This a must read and terrifying AF.

“You’re safe here,” says Gov Shapiro.

“But you’re safer elsewhere and every queer should experience the joy of being surrounded by people who get it.”

I see the pictures of you with PA’s the same small group of A Gays and recommend you talk to everyday queers about their daily lived experiences here - particularly in rural areas.

Many who are able are planning where to move with stronger protections.

But go on with the feel-good facts.

When the fascists are angry with you, you must be doing something right.

Thank goodness for the @buckscountybeacon.com.
Moms for Liberty CEO & Co-Founder Tina Descovich verbally attacked the @buckscountybeacon.com at Harrisburg-area event last week while introducing Bucks Chapter Chair Jamie Tromba. Our crime? Journalism. Read more here: bit.ly/46XkOQh (And don't forget to support progressive, independent media!)
Pausing because I have a life and family and this work is unpaid. May or may not finish it. Wish I could find funding because I love this work and believe in it. Local journalism grants are not interested in this work and local news outlets won’t report it. Not a good situation, IMO.
4️⃣ Spirtual Warfare, check.

ECC, HarvestNet, Gateway House of Prayer & their network of churches often lean into language of spiritual warfare. Some of their churches organized & attended a Jericho march in protest of a library Drag Story Hour - cancelled the next day due to bomb threats.

8/
3️⃣ Apostolic Governance, check.

ECC founder Barry Wissler later founded HarvestNet International, which is exactly that.

ECC is also connected to Randy Clark’s, um, Apostolic Network of Global Awakening and the Hopewell Network of Churches.

7/
2️⃣ Seven mountain mandate, check. From the @motherjones.com piece: “As far as the Seven Mountain teaching was concerned: “We do agree [the mountains] are there.”

View attached images to see just a few examples of ECC’s Seven Mountain Mandate language.

NAR leaders distancing themselves from the term is common. Let’s check a couple data points, shall we?

1️⃣ Fivefold ministry, check. Ehrman references it in video above and I personally heard it discussed at ECC last fall.

@kieraevebutler.bsky.social spoke with Ehrman in her piece for @motherjones.com last fall.

“I met executive pastor Jim Ehrman, who told me that he had only recently learned about NAR.”

Apparently I’ve only threaded this topic on Twitter. Here’s one small bit that transferred from that account.

Ephrata Community Church’s Jim Ehrman frames himself and other ECC/HarvestNet folks as part of a fivefold ministry.

3/
How do we know Bomberger is a fivefold Evangelist?

Here ECC’s Jim Ehrman identifies:

1️⃣ PROPHET: Wayne Kaufman (HNI)

2️⃣ PASTOR: Kevin Eshleman (ECC/Cocalico School Board Pres)

3️⃣ APOSTLE: Barry Wissler (HNI)

4️⃣ TEACHER: Jim Ehrman (ECC)

5️⃣ EVANGELIST: Michael Schott (HNI) vs Joel Bomberger

6/
The Eshleman / NAR relationship is also relevant because of K!rk’s relationship to the NAR.

“All politics is local,” no? Locals will never know the connections if journalism never informs them.

As I’ve posted and tweeted about for years, School board President Kevin Eshleman is also the lead pastor of a church associated with the New Apostolic Reformation.

IMO, this is a relevant & easily cited detail that ought to be reported on given the state of local, state and national politics.

@buckscountybeacon.com: I know you’re familiar with Estrada and his work - AND that you’re bold enough to provide the context your readers need. Maybe this story is of interest to you.
@lancasteronline.bsky.social: listen to Will Estrada reference the ELANCO case.

I need you to understand who Estrada is, what he devotes his life’s work to, and who he is connected - especially including the LancCo Elected official who sits on his board.
