I find it bleakly amusing when commentators remark on how “even doctors” say people are overdiagnosed with mental illness etc. As if the medical profession hasn’t repeatedly been at the forefront of dismissing and gaslighting disabled patients, especially women. Wildly ignorant.

So, to recap: a major publisher is releasing a nature writing book with (inaccurate) AI-created ‘woodcut’ artwork - that’s where we’re at?

And even sadder is that it’s a big author - so they have the budget, but are still choosing not to give it to an illustrator.

It’s just all so disappointing.
