Our mayor did it in his first month in office and here (Chicago) it's only consulates, not embassies. (PS - our mayor is also Zorhan's ideological counterpart and is polling at 8% after 1.5 years in office, he's ironically been a boon to the center-left, but I suspect ZH is more competent.

For the lost-count time, the antisemitism isn't having anti-Israli sentiments. I've been harshly critical of Israel on the West Bank settlements (and treatment of settler violence). The antisemitism comes in the double standards. A racist cop will claim they're merely anti-crime.

It's the other way around: by his alleged standard for not recognizing Israel's right to exist, he would similarly reject Pakistan's right to exist, an example he is clearly aware of and that he was later asked about.

The point is that he is aware Pakistan violates his alleged standard for a right to exist - but you knew that, hence the contortion to "advocating for Pakistan's right to oppress all non-Muslims" (which itself is contorted - she's a critic of Hindu nationalism).

I've been so anti-Israel policy on things like the settlements that it's illegal to advocate a couple of them from within Israel. But I don't think you can be antizionist (i.e., against an Israel of some boundaries per the 1948 partition) unless you have some extreme views on other partitions.

Not just Pakistan (or even Middle Eastern states and Iran - Japan is another example that violates his purported standard) but it's the example I and others have used. And my recollection is that someone in the media (probably a biased outlet) asked his campaign and didn't receive an answer. (Ctd)

Simply not true. His response was "I would not recognize any state's right to exist with a system of hierarchy on the basis of race or religion." And to suggest that he was just asked about the reality of Israel's existence is simply gaslighting.

Not true - in Pakistan Christians are not allowed to publicly practice their faith, it is illegal to seek converts (a commandment in the New Testament) and a felony for Muslims to convert. That's not a blessing of the BJP by any means - we once banned Modi for inciting Islamophobic riots.

Huh - not sure why it's not there. It's illegal to practice their faith openly, they cannot seek converts (which is a big part of their faith), and it is a felony to convert a Muslim (and for a Muslim to convert).
