In #BookSky news, I recently knocked out the new(ish) Founding of Valdemar trilogy. It was pretty good…the author loses herself in the weeds a time or two, but she finishes each book with a bang and has set up another followup too.

$15 into the book kitty!

Three novels by Mercedes Lackey: Beyond, Into the West, and Valdemar, with $15 in cash stick in them.

Oh yeah, he definately wants to try for the Olympics. He better have something in his contract that allows him to ride for his country whenever he wants.

Yep, that was Andrew Feather...held Pogi off by like 2 something minutes? He posted on IG about it...he was in utter disbelief. It was great!

Yeah, I think his biggest goal is to win the 5 monuments. I would like to see some agreement to let him miss the Tour for a year or two...they'll have to in 2028, since the Tour and Olympics are at the exact same time.

But he's earned the right to ride what he wants to at this point.

And most of the people along the road do. (Most of the idiots who misbehave will do it to anyone. 🤦‍♀️)

But all of this constant media pressure and negativity has to be grating on him. Imagine having a mic shoved in your face and being asked if your dominance is ruining the sport you love. 🫣

I think his dream season is a spring of classics/monuments, taking the summer off, then doing Worlds/fall classics.

He does want to do Vuelta to check it off, but that's going to be VERY hard the next couple of years because Vuelta is so close to Worlds.

His team needs to take his wishes into account when building his program. To force him to do races that 1) he's already won and 2) doesn't really want to do again will burn him out and possibly force him into early retirement.

I hadn't seen it, thanks for the tag. Not suprising, but it makes me sad/mad at he same time. The guy works hard, gives his best every time, is a decent human being, and somehow catches more shit than a portable toilet at a music festival.

I'm glad he has that personal support network, though.

Ugh. Woke up to the news of Arkea going under. I hate that for them & everyone attached that team. I was hoping that something would come through at the last minute, but 😞.

I’ve said that if I hit one of those big lotteries, I’d pick a cycling team or 2 to sponsor, because I hate stuff like this.

Very interesting that you folks get Chongming Island as an option. USA MAX has been missing *counts on fingers* 4 races this season that you all have gotten on your TNT/D+/etc and that we can't access anywhere without a VPN.

Caught up with #TourofGuangxi ...it was nice seeing Attila Valter out in front for a long while (that beard, not so much 😆).

Awful crash in the last 400m took out/delayed half the peloton, leaving it clear for Magnier. Hope everyone's okay out there.
