Do you have to get any winter vaccinations?

I've had the 'flu jab, hope it staves off the worst of it this season
She's ok now thank you. Mind you, with two toddlers in nursery their winters are full of bugs

I got my hair cut today
I like butter beans. I cook them with some chopped onion and tomatoes so they make a kind of stew and then I pop a nice bit of white fish on top

We having something you'd like tonight...sausages

Will have mash, peas and carrots and some onion gravy with them
Evening Ian how are you today? (and you know all the rest, we have a routine now don't we 😊)

Did you see the photo I just posted of the rose from our garden, isn't it pretty

Yeah I don't really ever see anyone smoking around here

Younger Ms SG smoked for a while, but she's the one with children and since she got pregnant she stopped and her partner doesn't smoke either, whereas previous ones did, so she probably just went along with the people she mixed with
Nor Lord SG

No one in our family smokes, or vapes
A massive, massive, collective sigh of relief
No, never have

Do you?
I'm fine thank you for asking. It didn't get too bad really, just made me very tired
I gave up on Cif, I think it's been watered down, it seems runnier nowadays

I've moved over to this

Have found it really good. I had a ring mark on a stainless steel drainer and it's the only thing that's dealt with it

This is Ada Lovelace, daughter of Lord Byron and considered to be the first person to write a computer programme which was for Babbage's Analytical Machine. She died in 1842
In her honour, today is Ada Lovelace Day and is all about encouraging women and girls in mathematics, science and engineering.
I need to do a bit of cleaning at the end of the week. It never lets up does it
It looks like it's going to rain here. Wasn't so cold until about an hour back, but the temperature's dropped quite a bit.

We're going to have pizza tonight with a baked potato and salad. I buy plain bases and add all my own choice of toppings
Evening Ian, how goes it? have you had a nice day? eaten yet?
A good one to master is the Great Tit, it’s so distinctive. This account is very informative, well worth subscribing to

it's lovely isn't it and it won't be long before you recognise the songs without the app 😊 I bet you know more than you realise

Turning of the seasons for sure. The Robins have started singing their winter song
at any one time. That's two with suet balls and one with seed. Then there are ground trays.

We average about 10 suet balls at day at the moment, although I'm not happy with the size and quality - we downgraded due to cost

Crows, Jackdaw and Rooks have been around this past couple of days too
Seeing changes for yourself is very worrying isn't it

We have a regular Sparrowhawk visiting unfortunately and a pair of Magpies too. Doves have come back recently but the Starlings have gone. Sparrows in abundance, possibly about 40 and I'd say we can have at least 20 various Tits on the feeders
Coal, plus Long Tailed Tits, who obviously love the environment here
Overall our garden does not do at all well for any kind of Finch. We used to get very regular Chaffinch and the very occasional Greenfinch, but now both are an extremely rare sighting - Bullfinch even less so. Very sad

On the other hand, our garden is a real haven for Blue, Great, Marsh and
I've got some decent Goldfinch pics on my old laptop, considering they're taken through the kitchen window, but it took around 16 years to attract them into our garden despite niger seed feeders. They mostly come for the bird bath to be honest and they're not the most frequent visitors either
